Avalanche near base camp

Avalanches are frequent near the Everest Base Camp. This photograph shows an avalanche roaring down a mountainside close to the edge of the sprawling camp. Tents are positioned away from the potential path of avalanches, however the larger ones dust some of the tents and the climbers going through the icefalls.
